State Agency Provides $500,000 Loan for Harbor Place Site Cleanup
June 2017 - The recent construction of the first phase of Harbor Place at White’s Corner benefited from a $500,000 loan to cleanup industrial contaminants at the site. MassDevelopment provided a loan from the Brownfields Redevelopment Fund to support the downtown Haverhill redevelopment project. The loan help pay for cleanup of a portion of the site that had residual soil contamination from past industrial use.

June 2017 - Offices at the new Harbor Place building are filling up. At least one Pentucket Medical Associates doctor has found a new home at The Residences at Harbor Place. Joining him is a local longtime Haverhill philanthropic businessman.

June 2017 - The Planning Office is responsible for promoting the development of affordable and low income housing and is currently involved in a number of initiatives in the area. They are also working in conjunction with St. Francis House and Pine Street Inn, as well as with local government agencies in establishing a safe house for women caught up in the insidious web of human trafficking. Of course, the evening was an opportunity to honor Anne, but also to highlight the work of the Planning Office for Urban Affairs, which is not widely known among the general public.
